Registered Social Worker in Victoria, BC

Andrew Bucknall, BA, BSW, MSW, RSW

I have worked in mental health since 1998 and have been a registered social worker since 2004. I completed a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Wilfrid Laurier University with a clinical focus for individuals, families and groups. I also have an Honours Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (BA). I am a registered social worker, in good standing, with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.

A social work background allows me not only to focus on psychotherapy for the individual but also the impact of a broader society. We live in a world with incredible beauty but also considerable stressors. Modern life challenges us all and attempts to shift us into isolation. Understanding the impact of our society on our personal difficulties can assist us in challenging and overcoming obstacles.

My clinical practice utilizes Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy. For those who request it, a non-religious spiritual component to counselling can be added.
